 A portion of the public art in Tucson and Pima County is currenlty represented in this evolving online Public Art Collection. Select a category and then select a project to view images, locations, and descriptions.
Background: Over 135 public artworks exist, or are underway, in the public art collections of the City of Tucson and Pima County, Arizona. Funding for the majority of these artworks derives from the City and County's Percent for Art Programs, with 1% of most capital improvement project budgets allocated for art. Funding for some projects comes through granting mechanisms, such as the Arizona Department of Transportation's Transportation Enhancement Program or through other local resources.
 The Percent for Art programs for the City of Tucson and Pima County are administered through the Tucson Pima Arts Council. The Arts Council organizes artist selection processes and oversees production of artwork, in collaboration with the two jurisdictions, for public facilities, transportation projects, neighborhood centers, and parks.
This evolving online Public Art Collection contains information on a segment of completed projects. To use, first select a category, and then select a project to view images, locations, and descriptions. Clicking on the artist's name brings up additional artworks by this artist, if available.
