Call to Artists: Open Studio Tour

Call to Visual Artists
Open Studio Tour Fall 2007
Saturday & Sunday, November 10 & 11
Noon to 5pm both days

Back to Tour Main Page -- See the Sneak Preview and News Release!

Visual artists in Tucson and Pima County are invited to participate in this self-guided tour. Registration includes a listing in the online and printed programs. A listing consists of one art image, studio address, and contact information.

This year's program will be a full color, professionally designed 14-month Art Calendar featuring the artwork of Tour artists, with maps and studio listings. Less text, larger images!

New Entry Guidelines: For this professional Art Calendar, we will print one artist name per entry and one image of artwork per artist. See NEW Image Specs below.

Studios are expected to be open both Saturday & Sunday, November 10 & 11, from noon to 5pm both days. Participating artists who do not adhere to this standard compromise the integrity of the event. With this early notice, please plan ahead to have your studio open during the entire event. Public feedback every year tells us they want all studios open both days. This will help ensure the desired level of professionalism and build upon the strong reputation and increasing success we have achieved.

Deadlines and Fees:
$25 Early Bird Fee per Artist on or before August 6, 2007, 4pm
$35 Fee per Artist between August 7 and September 6, 2007, 4pm
Deadline for all registrations September 6, 2007, 4pm

Early deadlines are necessary to meet printing timeline, no exceptions. Fees will help offset cost of professional Art Calendar showcasing the artwork of Tour artists in a format that may be displayed year-round. (The tour remains free to the public.)

Tech Assistance:
If you would like technical assistance with your image submission, this is your opportunity. Bring your image (more than one recommended) on your digital camera's memory card and a blank CD to ITT Tech on Thursday, August 2 at 2pm. 1455 W River Rd, southside, just west of La Canada Dr. We will format your image for the Tour Program/Art Calendar.

Mapping: If there is any question about the location of your studio, please include a map with your check; place a red dot on the map at your studio location. Ideas: photocopy a street map or a previous studio tour map or create a detailed hand-drawn map.

Exhibit: A preview exhibition is still under consideration.

Outreach: Please help get the word out to artists in your area. Artists clustered together tend to see an increase in the number of studio visitors. Download and print a 1-page PDF flyer of this Call to Artists.pdf (110kb)
