“In a city that averages more than 300 days of sun a year, we thought it fitting to feature works painted outdoors, in the sunshine, for this show, ” said Mayor Rothschild. “We appreciate how these Tucson artists have used the unique light of Tucson to inspire their work, and continue to inspire others through their art. Local artists include Eric Jabloner, Janice MacKenzie, Jean Beck, and Lowell Richardson.

A collaboration between Tucson Pima Arts Council and two new artist-led tours has initiated the inaugural Fall Open Studio Tour Season. Art Trails, Heart of Tucson Art, and TPAC’s Open Studio Tour are three unique individual events that invite the public to tour the studios of artists from all over Pima County.

Earlier this month, TPAC announced cancellation of the tour as a result of diminished funding. After hearing the news, arts supporters Jim Click and Fletcher McCusker responded with an incredible donation to keep the event running. “Our family has been blessed by this community and when I heard the news I just felt compelled to help out,” said Click. “My wife and I are fans of many of the artisans here in Tucson and know how hard they’re working to make sure this community thrives.”
