Arts & Culture Data Collection

TPAC’s past research activity has informed local policy, cultural planning, and strategic planning for the region. Current initiatives will shape data collection, reporting and statistics for years to come.

The following is a summary of research projects that continue to influence arts and cultural policy in Pima County.

Americans for the Arts Studies — TPAC has worked in close concert with Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading non-profit arts service organization, in the production of two important national studies on arts and culture in Pima County.

  • Arts & Economic Prosperity IV measures the economic impact of arts and culture programming in Pima County.
  • Local Arts Index as the first study of its kind provides local measures for the health and vitality of the arts in Pima County.
  • Read the TPAC report, Creating Prosperity, that incorporates key findings from both studies.

Pima Cultural Plan –  Completed in 2008, this plan informed the development of the PLACE and Our Town-Tucson initiatives and informs the cultural planning process for the region.
