Job Title: Public Art Coordinator
Reports To: Public Art Program Manager

Job Summary: Half-time position assisting Public Art Program Manager with management of all phases of Public Art Program

Status: Non-exempt, half-time employee

Job Duties:           

  • Assist with coordination of public art projects for the City of Tucson and Pima County
  • Draft Calls to Artists, assemble and convene selection panels, facilitate review of artist submissions, and coordinate approval process for panel recommendations
  • Coordinate production of artwork, installation, and documentation
  • Serve as liaison to artists, community groups, funding departments, and elected officials
  • Assist with work of the Public Art & Community Design Committee (PACD)
  • Assist with preparation of PACD agendas, action summaries, attendance records, and roster
  • Assist with maintenance of public art project records and Web site
  • Assist with public art forums, workshops, and tours
  • Serve as public information resource about public art in Tucson and Pima
  • Perform related duties as requested

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in arts administration, studio art, art history or a related field and have two years or more experience in arts management.  Knowledge of public art, community art, and public policy are desirable. Excellent oral and written communications skills and computers skills are essential.

Remuneration: $16.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience, with no benefits
