TUCSON, AZ – Tucson Pima Arts Council is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2012 Lumies Arts and Business Awards.

Now in its 11th year, the Tucson Pima Arts Council created the Lumies to encourage everyone to celebrate the outstanding arts “luminaries” that contribute to Tucson and Pima County’s unique creative vitality.

As a testament to that vitality, this year’s Awards Ceremony—held on Friday, June 15th at El Casino Ballroom—enjoyed near-record levels of attendance and well-merited audience enthusiasm.

Speaking afterwards, TPAC Executive Director Roberto Bedoya noted, “It was a wonderful event and a true demonstration of how our community is made rich by the extraordinary talent, generosity and good will of its citizens.”

One hallmark of the 2012 Lumies is the amazing diversity of winners—from artists and arts institutions with international stature to individuals who have spent the better part of a lifetime providing artistic experiences for others to emerging young artists whose creative gifts show great promise for the future.
